I've been having these episodes of shortness of breath since 2008. It first happened when I was exercising, and I just couldn't catch my breath out of nowhere. Since then, these episodes come and go, lasting for a few days before disappearing on their own. I'm a smoker, and when I got tested, the doctor said I've got mild asthma, but I'm not so sure about that diagnosis since I dont really have other asthma symptoms like wheezing. Does this sound like asthma to you, or could it be something else?

I've been dealing with a cough for the past month and my fever keeps hovering between 102 and 104. I just got my test results back: my Mentaux test is positive and my chest X-ray shows some bronchetactics changes in the left upper-mid zone. There's also been mention of bronchial wall thickening and nodular densities in the upper zone. The report says it could be an infectious or inflammatory issue. I'm really worriedis this something serious that needs immediate attention, or is it likely to improve on its own? Any advice on how to handle this would be really appreciated.

I've had this stubborn dry cough for about 15 days now. It all started with a cold and cough, and I took some antibiotics and chest cold tablets for a few days back then. The cold cleared up, but this cough just won't go away. It's mostly at night before I sleep, but somehow it doesn't bother me when I'm actually asleep. The coughing makes it hard to breathe and sometimes I feel like my heart's racing. I even get these shivering vibrations in my upper body and hands. I already spoke to a general physician and got a bunch of medications like montelukast sodium, levocetirizine hydrochloride, methylprednisolone, and cefpodoxime proxetil potassium clavulanate. I'm on my second day of this prescription, and then I read online that some of these are for asthma. Really curious and a bit worried about what this could be, and if it's got to do with my lungs or heart. Any advice on what's going on and how to find out more?
