My mom is 50 and has been having lower abdomen pain for days. Her USG scan shows a retroverted uterus and low lying prolapse. How serious is this and will she need surgery
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
A retroverted uterus and low-lying prolapse can cause lower abdominal pain and may or may not require surgery, depending on the severity and symptoms. A retroverted uterus (tilted backward) is common and often doesn't cause symptoms, but can sometimes be associated with pain, especially during menstruation or intercourse. Uterine prolapse, where the uterus descends into the vagina, can range from mild to severe and may cause discomfort or interfere with daily activities. Treatment options vary, with mild cases often managed with pelvic floor exercises and lifestyle changes, while more severe cases may require surgery.

I'm 25 weeks pregnant and had a cerclage done at 14 weeks. Right now my cervical length is 30 mm is that normal or should I be worried about it shortening further?
A cervical length of 30 mm at 25 weeks, especially after a cerclage at 14 weeks, is generally considered normal and not a cause for immediate concern. While some shortening of the cervix is expected as pregnancy progresses, a 30 mm length indicates the cervix is still within a safe range. However, it's essential to monitor it closely and discuss any concerns with your doctor

I've always had regular periods, but I'm a bit worried because they're starting to get delayed. Last month, it was 10 days late, and now it's already been 12 days past the expected date, and still nothing. I haven't had intercourse, so I'm sure pregnancy isn't the issue. My period dates have been March 12, April 10, and May 19. Could you help me figure out what's going on?
