My question is about whether labs have different reference values because of the reagents used in processing. My lab report shows an A1C value of 6, and the lab normal range shows up to 6.2. I understand that normal values are usually less than 5.7, but in this case, can 6 be considered normal since the lab range shows up to 6.2? I understand fasting is high, but please restrict your answer to differences in lab normal ranges.

Lab normal ranges can slightly vary, but medically, A1C of 6 is considered prediabetic. Even if your lab marks it as normal, aim to bring it below 5.7 with lifestyle changes. Repeat every 3 to 6 months and consult if it trends higher.

Sir, I recently had a fasting glucose test, which showed 103 mg/dL, and an HbA1c test, which showed 12.52 percent. Is it possible for these results to be correct together, or is there a mismatch?

Glucose in my urine test shows present + + + +. What does this mean? I am diabetic for 6 years. The rest of my urine test report is normal. My blood sugar level after breakfast is 248, checked at home. Does this indicate early kidney disease? Please reply.
