My recent blood test shows a Vitamin D level of 12.08 ng/mL, while my serum calcium level is normal at 10 mg/dL. Should I take only a Vitamin D supplement, or a combination of Vitamin D with calcium? Please advise. I have attached my report for reference.

You have vitamin D deficiency. Calcium is normal, so only Vitamin D3 supplements (like cholecalciferol) are required unless advised otherwise by your doctor.
Dr. Bhanu Suggests...
Take a Vitamin D Test Test

View allI am 30 years old and have been experiencing knee pain for the past month. My X ray shows no abnormalities, and doctors suggest it might be due to calcium deficiency. I am taking calcium supplements and have been undergoing physiotherapy sessions for the last 15 days, but the pain persists. My blood test shows an ESR count of 44. Could you please advise if this is something serious and what further steps I should take?
