After a week, my doctor did a Widal test, which was positive, and prescribed Cyproxin for 2 weeks, suspecting typhoid. I felt better during treatment, but only for one week after stopping the antibiotics, and now I am sick again with low body temperature (36.2C) and fatigue. Other tests including CBC, thyroid, kidney, malaria, and liver function are normal. What could be causing my recurring illness, and what should I do?

Hi, my 7 year old niece is suffering from typhoid with a high fever of 103 to 104 degree. Today her blood report shows a hemoglobin count of 5.9. The pediatrician has given sodium drips and injections to lower the fever, but it is still 101 degree a few hours ago. I am very concerned about the low hemoglobin count. Please suggest immediate action?

My Widal test report shows S Typhi O 1:80, S Typhi H 1:80, S Paratyphi AH 1:20, and S Paratyphi BH 1:20. Am I infected with typhoid fever? If yes, what immediate precautions should be taken? Please help me. Thanks in advance.

Titers at 1:80 suggest borderline response, not diagnostic unless rising in serial tests. Please take a Typhidot IgM/IgG or Blood Culture to confirm typhoid.
