I have been chewing tobacco and gutkha for several years, and over time, my mouth opening has reduced and my jaws have become stiff. I am very concerned and depressed because of this. I am unable to eat spicy food, and I also sweat a lot while eating. Could you please suggest if any ointment can be applied to the inner mouth or jaw area? Also, what tests should I undergo to evaluate this condition?

Could be oral submucous fibrosis (OSMF). Stop tobacco and gutkha immediately. Get oral examination by dentist/oral surgeon. Biopsy of affected area to confirm diagnosis. Check Vitamin B12, Iron Profile for deficiencies.

Take a Vitamin B12 Test Test or Take a Iron Studies Test Test

View allI have been experiencing head spinning and numbness for the past 10 days. It started with a blackout after running. I consulted a doctor who checked my blood sugar and blood pressure, which were normal. He also examined my ears, found a blockage, and cleared it. He advised me to take Nurogold tablets and use ear drops. What could be the cause of my symptoms and should I undergo further tests?

My recent blood test shows that my Vitamin B12 level is 204 pg per ml, while the normal reference range is 211 to 911 pg per ml. Should I be concerned about this mild deficiency? Would you recommend taking Vitamin B12 supplements, or should I try to improve it through natural dietary sources first? Also, what would be an ideal or healthy Vitamin B12 level for someone of my age (27 years) and height (5.11)?
