My husband has had a continuous fever for the past 3 days, with temperatures ranging from 98.8F to 100.5F. He also has cold and cough. Blood tests for malaria and typhoid are normal. CBC and urine routine tests are also normal. Despite taking antibiotics and paracetamol, the fever persists. Could you please advise what might be causing this and what steps we should take next?

If fever continues for more than 3 days despite normal malaria, typhoid, CBC, and urine tests, it could be viral or even early dengue/chikungunya. Some fevers are self limiting but you can do a CRP, Dengue NS1, and Chest Xray to rule out underlying infection or inflammation. Continue antipyretics, stay hydrated, and rest. If fever crosses 101F persistently, visit a hospital for observation.
