There is a white patch that has emerged on my neck, which was not that prominent sometime back but now it is quite prominent. I got blood tests done on the advice of the doctor and I do not have sugar or thyroid. I have vitamin D deficiency though. What could be the possible reason for this white patch? There is no patch on any other part of the body, only on the neck.

A white patch on the neck can be due to vitiligo, fungal infection (tinea versicolor), or post inflammatory changes. Since you have vitamin D deficiency, skin pigmentation changes are possible. No thyroid or sugar is a good sign both can worsen vitiligo. Check for scaling, itching, or spreading these help differentiate cause.

View allI am in the IT profession and have been suffering from lower back pain for 2 years. I got a Vitamin D3 test done today and the result shows a level of 6.9 ng/ml. Does this mean I have a deficiency? If so, what are the risks and what are the ways to increase Vitamin D levels? Thanks.

My wife has been suffering from upper back pain for the past 20 days. Initially, the pain was radiating, but now it has become localized to a pinpoint area in the upper middle back. We have done an X ray and blood tests, and both came back normal. So far, we have consulted three orthopedic doctors, but she has not found any relief from the pain.
