Dr. Prasun Chatterjee

Dr. Prasun Chatterjee is one of India’s leading experts in Geriatric Medicine,
Dementia Care, Healthy Ageing, and Longevity Science, with more than 20 years of
clinical, academic, and research experience in elderly care. He currently serves as
Group Clinical Lead – Geriatrics & Longevity Science at Apollo Hospitals.
He is a former Professor at All India Institute of Medical Sciences and formerly
headed the Memory Clinic and National Centre of Ageing at AIIMS New Delhi. Dr.
Chatterjee has treated more than 5,000 patients with dementia and memory
disorders and is widely recognized for his expertise in early diagnosis,
comprehensive assessment, and multidimensional intervention for cognitive decline.
Dr. Chatterjee is also a WHO advisor on healthy ageing and currently serves as
President of the Indian Academy of Geriatrics. His work focuses on preserving
memory, mood, muscle, metabolism, and functional independence in 80 plus older
adults.
One of his major areas of expertise is Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA),
medicine optimization, and polypharmacy management, especially in elderly patients
taking multiple medications (>5 medicines). He is known for integrating evidence-
based medicine with personalized longevity interventions, cognitive rehabilitation,
nutrition optimization, exercise prescription, sleep management, and technology-
enabled elderly care.
He has more than 100 scientific publications, two patents, and has authored two
important books including Health and Wellbeing in Late Life - Indian Perspective and
a postgraduate Textbook of Geriatric Medicine for doctors and laypersons.
