Dr. Pratap Chandra Rath

With over three decades of experience, Dr. Pratap Chandra Rath is one of the best cardiologists in Hyderabad. He specialises in complex and high-risk angioplasties and image-guided angioplasties (OCT/IVUS). To date, he has performed more than 100000 Angiograms, 50000 PTCA and stenting, 200 cases of Percutaneous Trans Myocardial Laser Revascularization (PTMR), 5000 valvuloplasties, and 1000 cases of peripheral, renal, carotid Interventions including ASD and PDA closure.

Dr. Pratap has many firsts to his name. He was the first to perform TransRadial Coronary Angioplasty and stenting in the Asia Pacific region in 1994 (Published in Indian Heart Journal and also reported in the Limca Book of World Records) and the first to perform Venous graft intervention using a protection device in India (published in Indian Heart Journal). He was also the first one to perform Drug Eluting stent in the Asia Pacific region. Moreover, the doctor has performed one of the highest number of Percutaneous Transluminal Myocardial Laser Revascularization (PTMR) in India (published in the Indian Heart Journal).
