Clinical Fellow Resident in Pediatric Orthopaedics for 12 months under the guidance of Program Director John V Banta MD, at Connecticut Children's Medical Center, Hartford, CT, USA.  

Involved in working with the 4 members of the faculty by rotation.  Management (operative & non-operative) of a caseload consisting of roughly, 35-40% of Spinal deformities (mainly Scoliosis), 25- 30% of Hip/Pelvic problems (mainly as resultant of DDH & CP), 20- 25% of Knee, Foot & Ankle deformities and around 5% of Upper Limb ailments.  Involved in running weekly Clinics of Scoliosis, CP, Muscle Disease, Foot and Ortho. & a monthly Clinic of Myelomeningocoele.  Attended Pre & Post- Operative Conferences and weekly Grand Rounds involving didactic lectures and in- depth discussions.

Completed a clinical project - "Effect of Boston Brace on body alignment in patients of Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis" as a part of the curriculum to be completed in a year.  Successfully completed a case report titled "Congenital Pseudarthrosis of Fibula".

1993-1997

Senior Medical Officer- Orthopaedic Surgery at Central Institute of Orthopaedics (CIO), Safdarjung Hospital (1000 plus bedded), New Delhi.  Worked as a full-time surgeon doing Orthopaedic emergency & Casuality duties, performing both emergency and routine surgeries (traumatic & non- traumatic cases) and ran Orthopaedic Clinics.  Actively participated in academic discussions and taught Orthopaedic Residents.  
Worked successfully on 2 clinical papers on Orthopaedic Trauma, one on "Intercondylar Fractures of Humerus & it's management" and the other on "Ligamentotaxis in comminuted intra-articular fractures of lower-end Radius in Adults." Both eventually got published in the Journal "Orthopaedic Update."  Ably supported by Dr. KS Rao, Senior Consultant & Director, CIO, Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi.

Full time Resident in the Dept. of Orthopaedic Surgery, King George's Medical College, Lucknow, India pursuing MS Orthopaedic Surgery course under the direct supervision and professional guidance of Dr. US Misra, MCh. FRCS (L'Pool), Professor & Head, Dept. of Orthopaedic Surgery.  Did emergency duties, attended ward rounds (morn. & eve.), ran Ortho. Clinics and performed & assisted both routine and emergency surgeries at Gandhi Memorial & associated Hospitals affiliated to KG Medical College. Gained experience in the management of Spinal injuries when posted to Traumatic Quadriplegia & Paraplegia Unit.  Worked on the clinical project on the treatment of Intercondylar Fractures of Humerus & completed it successfully. Took active interest in academic discussions and taught Medical School students posted.

• Invited faculty for Paediatric Orthopaedic CME on ‘Pediatric Foot Deformities’ under the aegis of Paediatric Orthopaedic Foundation (POF) and presented a talk on “Symptomatic Flexible Flatfeet” at Govt. Medical College, Chandigarh on 6th July, 2024, Sunday.

• Invited faculty for Paediatric Orthopaedic Trauma Symposium (POTS) conducted under the aegis of Paediatric Orthopaedic Foundation (POF) and in association with Delhi Orthopaedic Association (DOA), where 3 interactive podium presentations, one on “Acute Lateral Condylar Fractures of Humerus – Management”, the 2nd on “Pink Pulseless Hand” and the 3rd a case report on “Monteggia Type 1 Variant”, were made. Sessions on ‘Fracture neck femur’ & ‘Monteggia Fracture Dislocations’ were also chaired. This POTS was conducted over 2 days and was at Jaypee Siddharth Hotel, New Delhi on 1st & 2nd of June, 2024.

• Invited as faculty to present a talk on ‘DDH – incidence, diagnosis & imaging' in a virtual CME on Developmental Dysplasia of Hip (DDH) organized by IAP (Indian Academy of Paediatrics) Thrissur, Kerala, on 28th January, 2021.

• Active member of DDA Care Pathway Expert Group (representing POSI) comprising of diverse groups consisting of Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeons representing POSI, Orthopaedic Surgeons representing IOA, International Hip Dysplasia Group, Neonatologists, Paediatricians, Radiologists and Ultrasonologists, Obstretics group. • Organizing Secretary for the 21st Annual Conference of Paediatric Orthopaedic Society of India (POSICON 2015) successfully held from 29th January to 1st February, 2015.  This international meeting comprised of 4 parallel pre-conference workshops (Foot & Ankle Deformities, Upper Limb Injuries and Complications, Knee Disorders & Deformities and Scoliosis), the main conference and a post-conference workshop on “Surgeries around the Paediatric Hip”, spread over 3 and ½ days.  It also featured 16 foreign faculty from across the world participating actively.

• Invited as Faculty in a workshop on “Clubfoot” in the 55th Annual Conference of the Indian Orthopaedic Association (IOACON 2010) held in Jaipur between 9th and 14th December, 2010.

• Invited as Faculty by the SriLankan Orthopaedic Association in a “Pediatric Fracture Course” conducted in Colombo, SriLanka, in a joint venture of both POSI (Pediatric Orthopaedic Society India) & POSNA (Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America), on 26th & 27th October, 2010.

• Organized a Symposium cum Workshop on “Pediatric Orthopaedic Trauma” under the aegis of Pediatric Orthopaedic Society (India) at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi, on 13th August, 2010.  As Faculty, delivered 2 lectures on “Pediatric Fractures are Unique!” and “Supracondylar Fractures of Humerus”, and conducted case discussions and the workshop on “Titanium Elastic Nails” (supported by Synthes).  On the occasion, brought out a handbook on “Management of Pediatric Long Bone Closed Fractures”

• As faculty, chaired a talk on “Osteosarcomas” which was a part of the International Update on Cancer & Blood Diseases in Children and Adolescents, conducted at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi, on 6th - 7th Feb, 2010.

• Attended an advanced workshop on “Adolescent Hip Disorders” as a part of post-conference workshop of POSICON 2010 at Secunderabad, AP on 24th & 25th January, 2010.   This was conducted jointly by both Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of India (POSI) & Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA).

• Attended & actively participated in the 16th annual meeting of Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of India (POSI) at Gandhi Medical College, Hyderabad, AP on 23rd & 24th January, 2010.

• Attended CME on “Reconstuction of Long Bone Defects in Children” as a part of pre-conference workshop of POSICON 2010 at Secunderabad, AP on 22nd January, 2010.   This was conducted jointly by both Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of India (POSI) & Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA).

• Attended a CME cum workshop on ‘Spinal Deformity’ as a part of Skeletal Spine Focus, arranged by Synthes in Gurgaon, Haryana, on December 5-6, 2009. 

• Participated actively in the 15th Annual Conference of Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of India (POSI 2009) held from 10th – 11th Jan, 2009, at Kolkata, West Bengal. As faculty, delivered a guest talk on ‘management of complication of clubfoot surgery’, as well as presented a scientific paper on ‘Relapsed Clubfoot Surgery in Older Children’. 

• Participated in an interactive pre-conference workshop on “Correction of Pediatric Spinal Deformities” as a part of POSICON 2009, held on 9th Jan, 2009, at Kolkata, West Bengal.

• Attended the 9th Annual Conference of Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of India (POSICON 2003,16 - 18 Jan, 2003), in Vellore, T.N., India.  Presented a free paper on "Clubfoot" and chaired a session on "Scoliosis".

• Organizing Secretary (Joint) for POSICON-2002, the 8th annual conference of Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of India, held in New Delhi (for the 1st time) on 23rd & 24th March 2002.

• Organized a successful workshop on "Pediatric Spine" on 22nd March, 2002, at Indraprastha Hospitals, New Delhi.  This was as a part of POSICON-2002 held in March 2002 in New Delhi.  It included renowned international & national faculty who helped out in didactic lectures, video session of surgery done a day before, hands-on workshop on spinal models using segmental (CD) instrumentation.

• Was an active member of the Earthquake Relief Team from Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi, to manage the patients of Orthopaedic trauma in Bachao & Patan District, Gujrat, India, in January, 2001.
