Dr. Sandeep Muzumder

Dr. Sandeep Muzumder is a highly accomplished Radiation Oncologist with over 17 years of post-MD experience. He currently serves as Consultant of Radiation Oncology at Apollo Hospitals, Bhubaneswar.
 

Dr. Muzumder received his medical degree (MBBS) from the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, and his MD in Radiation Oncology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, a premier medical institute in India. He further enhanced his expertise through a UICC fellowship in Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) for lung cancer at VU University Medical Centre, Amsterdam. He has also worked with CyberKnife technology for 2 years.
 

His clinical expertise encompasses a wide range of oncological treatments, including 3DCRT, IMRT, IGRT, VMAT, SRS, SRT, SBRT, TBI and Brachytherapy. He has extensive experience in managing solid tumors with radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and hormone therapy. His special interests include head and neck oncology, carcinoma esophagus, brain tumors, pediatric malignancy, soft tissue sarcoma, lymphoma, and stereotactic radiation therapy. 
 

Dr. Muzumder has a strong academic and research background, with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. He has also presented papers and posters at national and international conferences. He is committed to advancing the field of radiation oncology through clinical practice, research, and education. He served as Professor and Head of Radiation Oncology at St. John's Medical College and Hospital (SJMCH) in Bengaluru, India. He helped starting the department and academic course from the beginning at St John’s.
