He is a Senior member of the Comprehensive, multidisciplinary state of art facility of Apollo Cancer Institute. After his post-graduation from KGMC Lucknow in 1977, he has worked as a Consultant in Surgical Oncology at the Malignant Diseases Treatment Centers of large teaching hospitals of the Armed Forces for 18 years. He has been further trained at The Tata Memorial Hospital. Mumbai and The Royal Marsden Hospital, London. He has been awarded with an International Union Against Cancer (UICC) fellowship at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, University of Sydney.

With voluntary retirement from services in year 2000, he carried over two decades of dedicated oncology experience to Batra Hospital and PSRI, New Delhi. With his joining of Apollo Cancer Institute in 2004, he has been able to utilize his expertise in major surgical resections of head and neck cancer, Gastro-intestinal and organ preservation surgeries in breast, larynx and limb sarcomas. He has keen interest is surgeries for Peritoneal Carcinomatosis and Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC).

His academic achievements included under and postgraduate teaching experiences at Armed Forced Medical College, Universities of Pune, and Universities of Mumbai and Delhi.

He has publications of over forty book contributions and highly acclaimed professional papers in peer reviewed national and international journals to his credit.
