I have a gun stock deformity and heard surgery is the only fix what are the risks involved? Also, will there be any post-surgery issues if I plan to lift heavy weights afterward? I'm worried about how it might affect my strength training.

My uncle has been in the hospital for 10 days with a comminuted displaced fracture of his right acetabulum that also extends into the superior pubic ramus.
