Is it normal to sometimes have shortness of breath with a common cold? I've had a cold for about 10 days now, and I'm a bit worried because I don't feel like I'm breathing properly. Should I be concerned about this?

I'm having this issue where a few hours after I fall asleep, I wake up with shortness of breath. It's really alarming because it happens out of nowhere, and I don't know what's causing it. After I drink some water, I feel better, but it's unsettling not to know why it's happening. There's no chest pain or anything like sweating, just this sudden breathlessness. Can you help me figure out what might be going on?

do one chest xray and check your hemoglobin levels.

I've just got the results from my recent chest CT scan, and it's mentioned that there are fibrotic scars in the left upper lobe of my lung with post-inflammatory sequel changes. I'm a bit worried and curious if this is something serious or could it be considered normal?

Fibrotic scars in the left upper lobe of your lung, described as post-inflammatory sequelae, typically result from past infections or inflammation. While it's not uncommon, its important to monitor and follow up with your doctor for any further management or assessment to ensure it doesn't affect your lung function.

I'm really concerned about my dad. He had moderate COVID-19 and was hospitalized for five days, he's been discharged since January 1st, and all his reports were fine in mid-January when he was tested negative. It's been about a month and a half now, but he still has this mild dry cough. There are no other symptoms, though. How long can you have a cough after COVID, and should we think about getting him tested again? Any advice you have would be really great to hear.

some cases upto 12 weeks
