I've been dealing with this cough for 23 days now, and it's getting really frustrating. I'm coughing up this greenish-yellow mucus, and every single time I cough, I can't breathe and start gagging. On top of that, my nose is super congested, my tonsils are all inflamed, and I've got this really terrible ear pain. What could be going on here? Should I be concerned about this combination of symptoms?

I was diagnosed with an antrochoanal polyp after a CT scan and my doctor recommended surgery. I'm okay with surgery but I'm curious to know if my polyp is considered big or small since I don't have facial pain and only one nostril is 40% blocked while the other is fine. I had a sinus infection about 10 months ago could that be related? Do I really need surgery?

An antrochoanal polyp's size isn't determined by nostril blockage alone. While a 40% blockage is noticeable, it's the polyp's location and extent, as seen in your CT scan, that dictates its size and potential for surgery. Your recent sinus infection could have contributed to the polyp's growth, and while some patients may need surgery, others may respond well to medical treatments. Your doctor's recommendation for surgery suggests a need for complete removal to address your symptoms and prevent recurrence.

My daughter is 6 years old and she has adenoids. The main issue we're seeing is that she really snores a lot at night. To try and avoid surgery, someone mentioned that we could use metaspray and give her Montair LC at night. I'm really curious about whether that's a good idea or not. Any advice would be great!

Metaspray is a nasal spray containing Mometasone which is a steroid that helps reduce inflammation in the nasal passages. Montair LC is a combination medication containing Montelukast and Levocetirizine. Montelukast helps in reducing inflammation in the airways and Levocetirizine is an antihistamine that helps in relieving allergy symptoms. These medications can help reduce nasal congestion, inflammation, and snoring associated with adenoids. It is important to follow the dosage instructions provided by your healthcare provider.

I've just gotten over a cold, but now every time I cough or swallow, my ears start clicking and making noises. It's pretty frustrating and I can't help but wonder what's going on. Could this be related to the cold I had, or is it something else? It's really starting to bug me. What should I do about this?

That could be ear effusion, practice valsalva manoeuvre u will feel relieved.
