My brother has had a dry cough for about two weeks now, even after trying all sorts of medicines. I'm getting worried and I'm not sure what kind of specialist we should see. Any advice on this?

View allI've been feeling a bit of breath shortness after breakfast and while climbing stairs, and my breathing isn't as smooth as it used to be. I had a history of smoking for 9 years, then switched to vaping e-cigarettes for 2 years. I've quit all nicotine and smoking products for the past two weeks. Could you tell me what tests I should consider to understand the impact of my past smoking and vaping on my health?
do chest x ray and pulmonary function test

I've been feeling a bit breathless since April 13th. It eased up a bit, but then from April 18th, I started getting out of breath even when I'm just resting. I don't have any chest pains or a constant cough, although my cough sometimes sounds deep, and there's a wheezing sound when I take a deep breath. I haven't had any fever or chills either. It's been over a month now, and this breathlessness just isn't going away. What could be causing this, and should I be worried?

I've been dealing with a coughing issue over the past week, and it's really getting out of hand, especially at night. It's making it hard to sleep because there's also this white mucus that keeps coming up from my throat. I'm considering taking a cough expectorant, but I'm not sure if that's the best move. What do you think? Should I try medication, or is there something else I should do?
use medication
