My dad is having loose motion and vomiting right now, and it all seemed to kick in at the same time. It's really late, and we don't have any medicine at home, plus all the pharmacies are closed. Do you know of any home remedies that might help him feel better?

For loose motion and vomiting, you can try giving your father oral rehydration solution (ORS) to prevent dehydration. You can make ORS at home by mixing 6 teaspoons of sugar and 12 teaspoon of salt in 1 liter of clean water. Make sure he drinks plenty of this solution to stay hydrated. Please consult a doctor in the morning for further evaluation and management.

I've been dealing with hyperacidity and heartburn for over a year now, even after cutting out tea and cola and sticking to home food. For the last three months, I've had to rely on Pentocid 40 every morning because Zinetac doesn't work as well. While it controls the acidity, I've developed a constant cough that doesn't bring up phlegm and sometimes wheezing. I've also started snoring a lot with my mouth open, leading to dry mouth and waking up at night. I really don't want surgery or an endoscopy is there a natural way to manage this? Also, could daily Pentocid cause side effects, especially since I'm already on Telma 40 for BP? I'm a bit of a hypochondriac but not stressed, and I don't smoke or drink. Just turned 45 could age be a factor?
.try eating several small meals instead of three large ones whenever you can...Avoid foods that irritate your stomach, especially those that are spicy, acidic, fried or fatty... avoid coffee, tea etc... Avoid stress, consider calming activities, such as meditation, yoga etc...sleep with head raised position and have dinner at least 2 hours before sleep..do regular exercises...take pantaprazole 40 mg twice daily before food with above....consult physician if symptoms persists.

I'm a bit concerned after having my gallbladder removed about six weeks ago, since my recent report shows fat changes in my liver and that its enlarged to 16.4 cm. The surgeon didnt mention anything about it, which has left me wondering how serious this might be. Im all about sticking to a low-fat diet and havent hit any bumps there, but Im curious about how I can help my liver reverse these fatty changes. Are there specific foods I should be eating or avoiding? Also, would adding a liver tonic to my routine be useful, and if so, could you suggest any? One last thing that's been on my mindcan I enjoy alcohol now, just in moderation and on occasion? I'm a 23-year-old male, 5'10", weighing 87 kg, and luckily, I dont have any issues with sugar levels or blood pressure.
Avoid drinking and smoking as they increase the load on your liver. Avoid fried foods and processed snacks. Restrict yourself from having spicy foods and try to opt for a bland diet. You may need to take liver protective medication such as Ursocol or Tricholine.
