Hello Doctor, My wife has been experiencing heel pain for several days. After a blood test, the doctor informed us that she has low iron and low hemoglobin, and prescribed protein and multivitamin tablets for iron deficiency. She also finds that when she gets up from a chair, she cannot put full weight on her foot, and the heel pain eases after a few steps. Could you please suggest any tablets or treatment for this heel pain?

Heel pain while getting up, improving after a few steps, may suggest plantar fasciitis (heel inflammation). Low iron and blood levels are separate issues; continue iron and multivitamin tablets as prescribed. For heel pain, advise heel stretching exercises, using soft footwear, and avoiding prolonged standing. Applying ice and gentle massage can help reduce pain. If pain persists, a Vitamin D test and X-ray of the heel may help rule out other causes.
