I am in the IT profession and have been suffering from lower back pain for 2 years. I got a Vitamin D3 test done today and the result shows a level of 6.9 ng/ml. Does this mean I have a deficiency? If so, what are the risks and what are the ways to increase Vitamin D levels? Thanks.

A Vitamin D3 level of 6.9 ng/ml indicates severe deficiency (normal: greater than 30 ng/ml). It can cause chronic back pain, fatigue, bone weakness, mood changes. Supplement with Vitamin D3 60,000 IU weekly (under doctors advice). Include sunlight (20 mins daily) and foods like eggs, milk, mushrooms, fish.
Dr. Bhanu Suggests...
Take a Calcium Test Test or Take a Vitamin D Test Test

I got an attack of mouth ulcer 1 month ago with approximately 5 big ulcers. After 3 weeks the ulcers were gone but my stomach pain started and I had harder stool. The doctor gave me medicine but small ulcers happened again and went away. The doctor did a vitamin D test and it was very low at approximately 9.36. He gave me medicine and I am on medicine. I have little weakness and back pain so I thought to do one CBC test. Please check my report and tell me if it is normal or if there is anything to worry about? Please help.
