Lung Regeneration Capacity:
- Lungs have a limited ability to regenerate. They can repair minor injuries by regenerating certain cells in the airways and alveoli.
-
Limitations:
- Severe damage, such as from chronic diseases like emphysema or fibrosis, can lead to permanent scarring and loss of function.
-
Protective Measures:
- Avoid smoking, pollution, and infections to maintain lung health.
-
Consultation:
- For concerns about lung health, consult a pulmonologist for personalized advice and treatment options.

View allI'm really worried because I've been having some back and chest pain, so my family doctor had me get a chest x-ray. The results say something about a blunted left costophrenic angle and left-sided pleural effusion. My doctor thinks it might be TB since there's fluid on the left side of my lungs. Can you help me understand what this means and what steps I should take next?
That could be TB no need to worry, visit Pulmonologist for evaluation and appropriate management

I'm really worried about my dad. I've attached his recent chest CT scan, and I'm hoping you can help explain what's going on. He was diagnosed with COPD last year, and I'm not sure how this scan relates to that. What should I be looking out for?

I'm a bit confused about how doctors handle a simple common cold. If someone doesn't have any symptoms and hasn't had a chest X-ray, do pulmonologists still do a hands-on assessment of the lungs and thorax without a stethoscope? I'm just curious about what they look for and if that's a normal practice or not.
