I've had an ACL injury for the past 2 years and I'm wondering if sports injury surgery can be done without using screws what are my options and how effective are they
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
Yes, it's possible to manage ACL injuries without surgery, particularly for those who are less active or who don't want to return to high-impact sports. If surgery is necessary, there are minimally invasive techniques that may avoid using screws, such as suture-based repairs or allograft techniques.

I had an ACL tear and heard about PRP treatment but I'm not sure if it's a permanent fix or if I'll eventually need arthroscopy surgery what would you recommend for long-term recovery
PRP therapy can be a valuable tool for ACL tear recovery, especially in the initial stages and for smaller tears, but it's not a permanent solution and may not be effective for all patients. ACL reconstruction surgery is often necessary for restoring full knee stability and function, especially if you have a complete tear or experience persistent instability.

Got an MRI done for my right knee as the doctor suggested. Can you take a look and let me know if surgery might be needed? I can share the MRI images with you.
